You know Adam Dutkiewicz as the guitarist of Killswitch Engage, and you probably know him as one of the goofiest and most hilarious characters in metal as well. But on top of his fantastic playing, he's also produced some of the biggest metalcore albums throughout the 2000s from his own band, Parkway Drive, Underoath, As I Lay Dying and many more.
The dude has always kind of taken the piss, and he's graced us with some legendary antics to look back on as a result - here are five of our favourite Adam D moments that will forever bring us joy:
Heading To The Bar To Order A Shot While Playing 'End Of Heartache'
Have you ever seen a guitarist just walk off the stage and to the back of the venue to order a whisky? A fan captured this unreal footage of Adam taking full advantage of his wireless guitar setup to casually stroll through the audience and chat with a few people while still perfectly playing 'The End Of Heartache' the entire time.
It's bizarre to watch the rest of his band literally on the other side of the room while he's just hanging at the merch desk and riffing next to fans who understandably look amazed!
Appearing On 'The Price Is Right' And Winning The Entire Showcase
You read that right - Adam was once a contestant on The Price Is Right in 2015, where he made it all the way to the final showcase and won over $50,000 worth of loot including a brand new truck!
His goofy persona was on full display throughout the episode, with host Drew Carey clearly loving it as well. A legendary moment in both metal and TV history.
Not All Heroes Wear Capes, But Adam Does
You know Adam just does not give a shit about metal stereotypes, wearing basically whatever the hell he wants on stage including the famous short shorts and cape combo.
He has totally made it his own thing over the years, and watching him run around as a massive dork is not only hilarious, but makes us love him that much more!
Running Through The Crowd And Chatting With Audience While Playing
Not unlike the time he ran to the bar for a drink mid set, there was another instance in 2018 when he let himself loose with his wireless set up, only this time running across the open patch of grass to have a conversation with the sound guy in his tent, before sitting down on the ground to chat to some punter, again while playing 'The End Of Heartache' perfectly.
Why? The answer to that question is simply, why not?
Eating Pizza During 'My Curse' Performance
A spot of pizza never really goes astray, but in the middle of a set at a festival? Sure, why not!
In this fan-captured footage, a stage crew member can be seen feeding a slice of tasty looking pizza to Adam, who is more than happy to chow down mid-riff, before running off with half the piece in his mouth and continuing to gobble as he goes - just another example of why the man is a master of multitasking.
He's probably practiced his own songs enough that it's 100% muscle memory by this point, but it's still impressive nonetheless!
