French metal titans Gojira shocked the world over the weekend, teaming up with opera singer Marina Viotti for an unforgettable performance at the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony in Paris. The formidable quartet from Ondres, Landes and Viotti performed a punishing rendition of the French Revolutionary anthem Ah! Ça Ira, outside of Conciergerie Palace. In a new interview,singer-guitarist Joe Duplantier has reflected on the instantly iconic moment and revealed how it all came together in the first place.
- Californian punk legends Strung Out dropped the 10th album of their remarkable 35-year career, Dead Rebellion last month. - Story Of The Year have announced an Australian tour with Senses Fail and Behind Crimson Eyes. Heading around the nation in August, the tour will see the St. Louis rockers celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic debut full-length Page Avenue.
- Eora / Sydney hardcore band SPEED have announced that their debut full-length ONLY ONE MODE will be released on July 12. The album announcement is accompanied by the video for the first single REAL LIFE LOVE.

- Slipknot have confirmed the identity of their new drummer. To the surprise of seemingly nobody with an internet connection, that drummer is Eloy Casagrande.
- Sydney metalcore powerhouse Polaris have announced a tour of regional Australia with support from Ocean Grove, Bloom and Inertia. Kicking off in Cairns on June 27, Polaris will electrify stages across Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria, closing out on July 28 in Frankston.
