The music world was left in shock after The Prodigy frontman Keith Flint had passed away at the beginning of March, and tributes have been flowing in for the charismatic legend ever since.
Papa Roach offered one of their own, with a cover of the The Prodigy's megahit 'Firestarter' during their set at the massive Sonic Temple festival which just took place in Ohio. Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix gave the crowd a heartfelt introduction to the cover, and can be heard saying:
"I got a text a couple of days after Keith Flint had passed away from the promoters of this festival, asking us if we would come and take their place...and as a fan of The Prodigy - and excitement in my heart, that was very heavy at the same time - I responded "hell fuck yes, we would love to be part of this". And we couldn't do without honouring Mr. Keith Flint, the Firestarter!"
The cover is pretty true to the original in feel (British accent and all). Check it out below!
Sonic Temple also featured System Of A Down as headliners, along with Foo Fighters, Bring Me The Horizon and Meshuggah to name a few!
Rest in peace, Flint. We miss you!
