Well this is pretty cool - alt-rock legends Muse have shared a clip to social media which shows them paying tribute to Deftones by covering the intro to 'My Own Summer (Shove It)' in front of Deftones' hometown in Sacramento, California.

Sadly, the cover comes to an end right before any vocals kick in, but it still sounds pretty heavy and it's both a nice and unexpected nod to Sacramento's finest. Check it out:

Deftones are expected to be releasing new music this year, with frontman Chino Moreno recently going into detail about the writing process for their upcoming record, stating that so far the sessions have most reminded of their magnum opus White Pony.
