Having just wrapped up Korn's three Follow The Leader 20th anniversary shows in the US, frontman Jonathan Davis has released an emotionally-charged new music video for 'Basic Needs' from his debut solo album 'Black Labyrinth'.
One of the more interesting tracks on the album, 'Basic Needs' features a lengthy middle-eastern influenced bridge which is unlike anything else Davis has approached before. The video deals with homelessness, loss and some trippy imagery towards the middle of the song. Davis had this to say about the song:
“Basic Needs is essentially as close as I get to writing a love song. It also gave me a chance to explore different instruments and styles of world music, and step outside of what may be considered ‘the norm.’ The two other videos I’ve released for this record have been telling a story in reverse. This video continues that pattern.”
There are still some solo US tour dates left in Davis' schedule, though with recent news floating around, it looks as though his focus may very well be back on Korn in 2019.
Listen to Jonathan Davis now.
