With Tenacious D's first album in six years, 'Post-Apocalypto' just 'round the bend, the band have released the first episode in a YouTube series which will run weekly up until the album's release on November 2.
Previously, there were rumours that the animated series would be hand-drawn by Jack Black himself, and given the quality of the animation, well...it's most likely true, but it almost adds to the hilarity of it all.
The story follows Jack Black and Kyle Gass as they are unable to pay their rent, so instead of being bothered to write a new album, they instead become motorbike stuntmen before a nuclear bomb is randomly dropped on them and they survive while hiding in a refrigerator. Yep, only Tenacious D could come up with something so ridiculous!
In the post-apocalypse, the duo stumble upon a two-headed dog which they call 'Hope', before proceeding to play the third track from the album also titled 'Hope'. It's actually a really great song, and it starts at the 5:14 mark. Check out the episode below!
This is totally something that could exist on Adult Swim. We can't wait for the next episode!
Listen to Tenacious D now.
