Ah yes, 1997 was a good year for nu-metal; Limp Bizkit played in a parking lot, Corey Taylor played his first show as the frontman of Slipknot, and some of the earliest known live footage of System Of A Down was captured.
Now, some previously unreleased footage of Deftones has surfaced which shows the band playing their classic track 'Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)' live for the first time ever in September of that same year!
Shot at The Press Club in the band's hometown of Sacramento, they would go on to release Around The Fur a month later and subsequently explode in popularity.
A blonde Chino can be heard saying that it was the first show they'd played in a long time due to recording the album all year. Check out the sweet footage:
'Be Quiet and Drive' ranked pretty high on the list of our top 10 Deftones songs, and you can see what else made the cut here.
Deftones have promised the release of new tunes in 2019, but we're yet to hear of anything just yet. The year is still young!
