Creed are back in action and back on mainstream US television. The reunited 90s rock giants performed their 1999 megahit Higher from Human Clay live on a recent GMA3 broadcast. The band's performance on the afternoon spin-off of Good Morning America, also featured them playing My Sacrifice from 2001's unstoppable juggernaut Weathered. The appearance was in support of their upcoming US arena tour. Both performances can be viewed below.
The multiplatinum late '90s/early-'00s alt-rock staples embarked on a new era of the band when they played their curated Summer of 99 cruises in April. It was the first time the group had performed together in 12 years.
Formed in 1994, Creed emerged from Tallahassee, Florida, becoming one of the biggest rock bands of the late ''90s/early-00s. Considered one of the titans of the post-grunge scene, they've sold more than 53 million records globally, thanks to the strength of radio rock staples Higher, With Arms Wide Open, My Own Prison, One Last Breath, What If and My Sacrifice.
At the turn of the millennium, the US diamond-certified Human Clay and platinum-certified Weathered positioned the band at the forefront of the mainstream rock scene, culminating in a legendary 2001 Super Bowl half-time performance. They last performed together in 2012 following the release of their final album Full Circle.
Post-Creed work for most of the band has primarily focussed on Alter Bridge, with lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips joined by vocal powerhouse Myles Kennedy. Stapp has released solo records and fronted the project Art of Anarchy.
There have been no confirmed reports of plans for new material.
Stapp was the subject of a recent throwback article at Maniacs, looking at the time he challenged Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit to a boxing match for charity.
