Having just unleashed their ninth studio album Vaxis - Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures onto the masses, Coheed and Cambria have also released the first part in a mini-series which looks at the writing and tracking process the band undertook in the studio to record the album.
If you know anything about the band, then you'll know how much they use conceptual storytelling throughout each album, acting as the musical component of vocalist Claudio Sanchez's comic book The Amory Wars. This makes for a very interesting three minutes where each member passionately talks about the process.
The Heavenly Creatures is the seventh part of the Amory Wars series, with their previous record The Color Before The Sun being the first non-conceptual album in their catalogue. The concept of The Amory Wars is quite complex as it involves an entirely separate universe, but if you want to be brought up to speed you can check out this very detailed Wikipedia page.
