    On September 21, Albuquerque's metalhead Mayor Tim Keller got on stage before Parkway Drive played to introduce the band to his own town. Boldly yelling 'we believe in the power of metal!', the mayor was met with raucous cheers from the crowd.

    He's also come out on stage earlier this year to introduce both Trivium and Anthrax, so he's clearly not just doing it for brownie points. What a cool guy! Check it out:

    Back in April the New York Times also did a piece on Mayor Keller's love for metal, where he stated he'd been into the genre for a long time. As part of that article, he created a Spotify playlist full of his favourite metal tracks from bands including Slayer, Parkway Drive, Carcass and In Flames among many others. You can check out the full checklist in the embed below.
