Well this is pretty great; according to Germany's public international broadcaster Deutsche Welle (German Wave), two elderly German men went missing from their nursing home only to be found later that night at Wacken Open Air, the world's largest metal festival. Apparently the men were found at 3AM and were reluctant to leave the four-day event. One of the police officers stated:
"They obviously liked the metal festival. The care home quickly organised a return transport after police picked them up."
Headliners from 2018's Wacken include Juads Priest, In Flames, Ghost, Behemoth and Danzig to name a few. It sold out with an attendance of 75,000 people. That number may or may not include these two legends as it's unclear if they snuck in or paid for a ticket.
Rock on, brothers! Check out this montage from Gojira's set at the festival:
For another great age-related story, check out Inge Ginsberg, the 96-year-old holocaust survivor with her own metal band!
