When Atreyu dropped The Curse, MySpace was on a dizzying ascent from underground sensation to multi-billion dollar behemoth and the band’s early adaption to and proactive interaction with the platform helped turn Right Side Of The Bed into a cult hit that still gets spun in metal clubs today. We know this sound has been done to death now, but this slaps.
Bullet For My Valentine - Tears Don’t Fall
The biggest song off of these Welsh metalheads breakthrough debut album The Poison, Tears Don’t Fall was inescapable for much of MySpace’s prominence. It’s a well-executed piece of metal with metalcore elements and a very poppy chorus that helped them become one of the biggest metal bands of their era.
Bring Me The Horizon - Pray For Plagues
A far cry from where they are now, Pray For Plagues is the sound of Bring Me The Horizon’s career being born. It’s primitive, unrelenting and RAWR.
Enter Shikari - Sorry You’re Not A Winner
*clap* *clap* clap* The fact you not only know the above reference but also are completely powerless to prevent yourself from joining in whenever the song comes on is pretty much all that needs to be said here. This piece of electronica infused metalcore is one of the defining songs of the era. The fact the band went on to embrace completely different, arguably better and more interesting work makes still enjoying this an embarrassment free zone. Sorry, but you are a winner.
Job For A Cowboy - Entombment Of A Machine

Parkway Drive - Boneyards
The Byron Bay metalcore crews' rise to global behemoth status coincided with MySpace’s peak popularity and it is not hard to understand why. They were a cut above their contemporaries in every way from the moment they dropped their debut Killing With A Smile. By the time Horizons dropped the word travelled far and wide and tracks like Carrion and Boneyards became a staple statement of intent from metalcore fans worldwide.
I Killed The Prom Queen - Say Goodbye
IKTPQ were amongst the very first Aussie bands to utilise MySpace effectively, this track from their short-lived Ed Butcher fronted era, was a serious hit on the platform. There’s nothing groundbreaking going on here, it’s just MySpace era metalcore done really well, which makes it perfect for this list.
Suicide Silence - Unanswered
MySpace’s metalcore scene definitely had a strong deathcore presence with Suicide Silence sitting alongside BMTH, jobforacowboy and Whitechapel as titans of the MySpace deathcore scene. Unanswered lifted off of their first full length The Cleansing no doubt attacked many unsuspecting ears when it dropped on MySpace in 2007 as it came bursting out of every second kid with a long swept fringe, neck tattoos and stretched ears profile. The band blew up after this album and were widely seen as one of the movement's big success stories following the follow-up No Time To Bleed before frontman Mitch Lucker’s untimely, tragic death put an end to their OG classic era.
