Collaborations have been all the rage in 2022 with Bring Me The Horizon expanding their lengthy list with that Ed Sheeran feature, Health recruiting Lamb Of God for Cold Blood, and Matt Heafy working with Nergal from Behemoth and Ihsahn from Emperor on Akumu for his Ibaraki black metal project.
With rumours of a Dani Filth and Ed Sheeran collab on the way and a confirmed guest appearance by My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way on that Ibaraki record, the desire for metalheads to engage in some cross-genre sonic exploration seems to be reaching a fever-pitch.
