Bring Me The Horizon just dropped an epic collaborative song with Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello. Titled Let's Get The Party Started, the track, which will appear on Morello's upcoming The Atlas Underground Fire is an undisputed banger. It is also one of a growing number of collaborative works and guest features that Bring Me The Horizon have been involved in throughout their career.
With the well of creativity seemingly overflowing at the moment in the Bring Me The Horizon camp, we are sure to be inundated with many more, so before the next rager or cross-genre collaborative jam hits, we've created this succinct list of The Best Bring Me The Horizon Collabs to help catch you up on any collaborative gold you might have missed.
Let's Get The Party Started - Tom Morello feat. Bring Me The Horizon
BMTH's collaboration with RATM guitarist Tom Morello is an absolute blast. Morello does what he does best, providing killer grooves while Oli Sykes and the BMTH crew go for it in a way that is out of step with their most recent material.
Salt - daine feat. Oli Sykes
Not strictly a BMTH collab, but this feature spot from Oli Sykes on emerging Aussie future emo star daine's Salt is a worthy inclusion on this list. An organic meeting of similarly experimental creative mindsets, Salt is a brooding cut of visceral electronic emo. daine's heaviest work to date Salt marks a return to the genesis of her original sound, with reverberating, fingerpicked guitars weaving in and out of rap-inspired hi-hats, creating a foreboding backdrop for daine and Sykes to weave a vampiric tale of lost love.
Obey - Bring Me The Horizon feat. YUNGBLUD
We'll be the first to admit our scepticism when we heard rumours of this collaboration coming to pass, but you can't argue with the sheer anthemic qualities of the end result. Obey takes all the best parts of recent BMTH and combines it perfectly with the alt-pop melodrama that YUNGBLUD does so well. The fusion of styles is way heavier and significantly more effective than anyone had any right to expect. This might be our favourite BMTH song of the last few years.
Kingslayer - Bring Me The Horizon feat. BABYMETAL
A brutal collision of worldbuilding modern metal monoliths that is every bit as heavy, energetic and undeniably catchy as you'd expect. The blend of hyperactive J-pop/metal with the most metalcore elements of BMTH sound makes for an all-out sonic assault on the senses. This track is a total blastbeat.
¿ - Bring Me The Horizon feat. Halsey
Halsey is one of the more rock-oriented popstars in recent memory, and the artists heavier credentials get a big boost on this cut from BMTH's 2019 experimental EP Music To Listen To...It's a hard one to describe and requires listening to, to understand so we'll drop it below and move on. It is pretty cool though.
nihilist blues - Bring Me The Horizon feat. Grimes
The moody pop collab between Grimes and BMTH is a trip of a listen and a logical extension of the soundscape the band was playing in on That's The Spirit. Grimes’ breathy vocal contributions blend well with Oli's darker tonal approach as a wall of cascading sounds built around a heavy electronic beat set an unsettling scene. This sounds like going clubbing in a futuristic vampire themed nightclub at 3am, but in the best possible way.
wonderful Life - Bring Me The Horizon feat. Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth)
What happens when you take recycled Limp Bizkit riffs, the melting pot of styles of modern Bring Me The Horizon and the iconic character that is Dani Filth and mash them together? Apparently magic does! Because wonderful life rips! Before hearing this amo track, that description would have seemed like a joke, but in the hands of these two sets of metal maestros, it is pure fire. Come for the randomness, but stay for the epic collision of styles and two iconic modern metal voices going ham all over the place. The lyric video rules too!
Crucify Me - Bring Me The Horizon feat. Lights
The opening track of the album that changed everything for Bring Me The Horizon, Crucify Me is the sound of two artists hitting their peak at the same time, collaborating and conjuring up a masterpiece. There Is A Hell Believe Me I've Seen It, There Is A Heaven, Let's Keep It A Secret is THE moment when BMTH tapped into what they could be and this song featuring Canadian alt-pop star Lights is the sound of them boarding a rocket to the future. 11 years on this song still hits us as hard as it did the first time we pressed play.
Fuck - Bring Me The Horizon feat. Josh Franceschi
Fuck was our first taste of what Josh Franceschi and Oli Sykes sound like as a vocal tandem (Sykes returned the favour on You Me At Six hit Bite My Tongue) and to this day it sounds like they were made to sing with one another. Franceschi's powerful pop/stadium rock cleans work so well against the expansive backdrop BMTH bring here and there's some pure vocal dynamic magic between him and Sykes that just works so much better than arguably anything Franceschi has ever done alone.
The Sadness Will Never End - Bring Me The Horizon feat. Sam Carter
Architects and Bring Me The Horizon are inarguably the two biggest bands to emerge from the 2000's British metalcore/deathcore scenes and this killer collaboration occurs at just the moment both their careers were about to launch into the stratosphere. This is the most straightforward entry on this list, but it is a worthy inclusion as it showcases lightning being captured in the bottle known as the British metal scene. We'd love to hear what a fresh collab between these bands would sound like. Here's hoping!
Bonus because this song is beautiful.
