The Amity Affliction have dropped a surprise new single Give Up The Ghost and it is an old-school Amity rager that many fans have been waiting for.
Featuring a frantic pace, ferocious screams from Joel Birch and a soaring hook from Ahren Stringer, Give Up The Ghost conjures up some nostalgic Youngbloods vibes while providing glimpses of the future.
A different beast to the emotive and powerful tribute to a friend, Like Love that the band released earlier this year, Joel Birch explains that Give Up The Ghost is the product of an organic burst of creative energy at the end of a self-produced recording session.
"It turns out everything is faster and yet we have the same level of attention to detail we’ve always had on our records""The lyrics were already written, and Ahren had a chorus melody on another demo that worked for this song so it all came together quickly which was cool. Banging out a song on a whim in a day isn’t something we’ve done before, so it felt pretty good."

Give Up The Ghost follows Like Love as the latest signs that the creative fires are burning within The Amity Affliction camp at the moment, ahead of their feverishly anticipated live return as headliners of UNIFY Gathering.
The Amity Affliction shared the powerful single Like Love with us all in September.
Like Love was written by co-vocalist Joel Birch for bandmate Ahren Stringer about the passing of their dear friend, Sean 'SK' Kennedy (former bassist IKTPQ, Deez Nuts).
Like Love's deeply personal and powerful emotional message, continues The Amity Affliction's unfiltered approach to songwriting something that Birch spoke to Maniacs about in October.
