No matter what genre of heavy music you're into, it's highly likely you know most of the words to Tenacious D's rock anthem Tribute including the "Guh fli-goo, ga-goo-buh-dee" part in the bridge. The comedic twosome are back with a new video of another type of "tribute" - This time to none other than British icons, the Beatles.
The 'D have released a video of two covers of songs from the Fab Four’s 1969 album Abbey Road via their YouTube channel, Jablinski Games. The first is a sombre-yet-twinkly performance of You Never Give Me Your Money and the second is a colourful green-screen orgy of The End.
The whole video showcases just how energetic and hilarious the 'D can make even the most sacred of classic rock tracks and one of the highlights of the clip is most certainly Jack Black's gold wrestling mankini outfit.
Vinyl of Tenacious D’s tribute is available for pre-order now via their website with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Boarders.
Watch Jables and the Rage Cage pay homage to Ringo and George below:
This isn't the first soiree frontman and actor Jack Black has had relating to the Beatles. Back in 2007 he had the honour of portraying Paul McCartney onscreen via rock biopic Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Jables sits alongside John Lennon (Paul Rudd), George Harrison (Justin Long), and Ringo Starr (Jason Schwartzman) in very believable representations of the famous musicians.
