Dimmu Borgir's classic second album Stormblåst is 21 years old this year, and if it were a person, it'd be able to ditch those P-plates and have a huge party and an even bigger hangover the next morning.
The followup to their 1994 debut For All Tid, Stormblåst laid the foundation for Dimmu Borgir's climb to the top of the extreme metal required listening list, with the introduction of their now famous symphonic black metal sound.
Stormblåst was the last album that Dimmu Borgir would record entirely in Norwegian, however the band would return to their native language for the 2005 re-recording of Stormblåst, titled Stormblåst MMV.
Dimmu Borgir have come a long way since the early days, and growing up as metalheads they all hold a special place in our blackened hearts.
Our recommended tracks on this record are Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen, Broderskapets Ring, and Sorgens Kammer. Have a listen for yourself!
