  • Premiere - Some Heard Trouble Engage The 'Hivemind'

    Melbourne's Some Heard Trouble delivers a blistering hard-edged rager on Hivemind. 

    Premiering exclusively via Maniacs today, the Callan Orr (Dream on Dreamer) produced Hivemind sees one of the Aussie hardcore scenes more innovative emerging acts delve deeper into the unknown, blending seemingly disparate influences into an intoxicating melodic hardcore cocktail. 

    With such innovative musical tendencies, it is only fitting that Hivemind arrives accompanied by a fantastical video. Filmed, directed, produced and edited by Martin Wood, the video for Hivemind brings the song to life,  incorporating elements of VR and underwater screaming and presenting the band trapped within a VR world that is teetering on the edge of collapse. 

    It is a video befitting both the song and the creative process that led to it, with the band revealing the song's origins lie in our increasingly virtual lives during this strange pandemic reality. 

    For us, ‘Hive Mind’ is a product of the pandemic - especially in terms of the impact it's had on our social constructs. It’s hard to not being together, but it’s emotionally and mentally buoying to see countercultures and people within the scene settling into little online communities, banding together and keeping creative. It’s kind of a revolution song against circumstantial complacency."

    Complacency is of course not something that anyone could ever accuse Some Heard Trouble of, with Hivemind the latest instalment in the band's constant progression since the release of their 2020 release Scorpion.  



    With genre heavyweight Scottie Thompson (Alpha Wolf) a big supporter, a split vinyl release with Saviour and support slots with acts the calibre of Drown This City and Advocates,  Some Heard Trouble are well-positioned to begin an ascent to the top of the Aussie scene and we have a feeling that Hivemind will be the track to take them there. 

    Hivemind will be released into the world on Friday, September 3rd and will be available via https://ffm.to/sht_hivemind.
