Melbourne's Cast Down have been drumming up a bit of a name for themselves over the past year, with appearances opening for last year's Download Festival and nationwide tours with the likes of Honest Crooks and Pridelands to boot.
Having now signed to EVP Recordings (Behemoth, King Parrot, Psycroptic), they've dropped a furious new track 'Thread My Lips', which will be part of an upcoming EP in early 2019.
The song delivers some crushing riffs and furious vocals, interspersed with moments of industrial dissonance for a unique sound.
Vocalist Jack McDonald says of the track:
‘Thread My Lips’ is about being in a position where I felt that doing the ‘right’ thing would cause more harm than good. It was a matter of sowing my lips shut and dealing with the rot in my gut instead of dealing with the pain of tearing them apart. Was the 'right' thing worth the cost? The answer was no."
The release coincides with a string of tour dates in February, where they will be joining No Zodiac (USA), Xile (NZ) and Sydney's Wraith. Peep the dates for that just below:
