Melbourne post-hardcore outfit The Motion Below have today marked their return with the release of a killer new track and video titled State of Decay. The track comes from their forthcoming Cronus Complex EP which is set for release Friday August 30 and is the band's first new music since switching their lineup late last year.
The track was produced, mixed, and mastered at The Loud Noise Estate and sees the band attempt to break the mould of 00s era post-hardcore with an infusion of metalcore-influenced energy and aggression. Take a listen now!
"At its core, the song is about recognising the difference between genuine despair in the face of hardship and the refusal to take responsibility for one’s own problems, no matter the severity," explains frontman Ryan Matheson.
"Intertwined with this central theme are expressions of guilt, anger, and ultimately resignation from attempting to help those who simply won’t accept it."
