Auckland prog metal five-piece Crooked Royals have had a very strong start over the past couple of years, signing to Lukas Magyar's (Veil Of Maya) record label before recording their debut EP Intertwine with the man himself in the US.
Now they're looking to continue their hot streak with a second EP called Rumination, and have unveiled the first killer taste of things to come with the title track.
The song is full of crushing riffs, tapping madness and offers up a nice combo of clean and harsh vocals across its five minutes. There's also a real juicy breakdown at the end if that's how you like to butter your bread!
The music video shows the band playing the track in a dark room while backlit by some cool changing light effects. It's also been shot in 50 frames per second which looks super smooth and crisp.
