Brisbane's Among The Ruined are gearing up to release their debut record called Despite All Odds on June 29, which is an exciting step forward for any band to make, but their killer new single from it, 'Alone In This Tomb (We Are Broken)', has us equally excited to get our hands on it!
'Alone In This Tomb' is a blend of melodic vocal-work over sharp, shredding metalcore riffs, and punctuated with big breakdowns that keep the song's intensity on the rise throughout. The result is a sound that fans of bands like Blessthefall and Memphis May Fire will dig.
The track comes as a poignant take on mental health issues surrounding young people, with vocalist Patrick Creamer saying:
"We all deal with a lot of the same mental health issues yet we still feel very alone and isolated from each other - even when surrounded by loved ones. The track is about the lack of communication and the feelings of separation that create these walls. We also comment on personal struggles with anxiety and mental health and the subsequent impacts they can have."
Have a watch of the official video below, which the band worked on with Colin Jeffs (Make Them Suffer, Dealer, Justice For The Damned):
