Sydney's instrumental prodigy Plini has announced the release of a new EP called Sunhead which will be out on July 27, along with a new music video for the beautiful single 'Salt + Charcoal' which you can watch below.
The song was released in audio form back in March but will also be included as part of the EP. 'Salt + Charcoal' is equal parts technical and beautiful, and we get some big Animals As Leaders vibes without it sounding derivative in the slightest. Sunhead was all written, recorded and produced by the 26-year-old Plini himself (full name Plini Roessler-Holgate) mostly in a bedroom studio, which is so impressive in its own right.
The song features Skyharbor's vocalist Devesh Dayal, while the EP features guests John Waugh of The 1975 playing saxophone and the classically-trained keyboardist Anomalie on piano.
You can pre-order Sunhead digitally on his Bandcamp, and it only costs five bucks!
