Periphery's vocalist Spencer Soleto and their drummer Matt Halpern have teamed up for a new pop-punk-esque project called King Mothership, and you can check out the rousing debut single 'Cosmic Meltdown' below!
It's a pretty big jump in genre for all three members (Slaves bassist Tai Wright rounds out the lineup), with their main projects being much heavier. Still, 'Cosmic Meltdown' does a great job of demonstrating their wide range of skills by delivering a really catchy tune while still including double kick drums, harsh vocals and more.
Fans of hard-hitting pop punk like Four Year Strong will probably dig this one a lot - have a listen to it and see what you think:
Spencer Soleto says of the new band:
"Very excited to finally share this record with the world. These ideas have been around for about eight years and it's such an amazing feeling to have sculpted them into songs we're all so proud of as a band. We had a blast making this record and I think it's gonna be the first of many to come."
Periphery members already have a number of side projects under their belt including the electronic-focused Four Seconds Ago, Those Fucking Horses and Misha Mansoor's "Bulb" solo project.
King Ritual is out on October 2, and you can pre-order it here!
