Paramore vocalist celebrated solo artist and bonafide modern emo scene queen, Hayley Williams has launched a new podcast Everything Is Emo. Produced in collaboration with BBC Sounds Back To Back , Everything Is Emo sees Williams living out her fantasy of "being like Jack Black in School of Rock where he teaches 'Rock 101' this is my 'Emo 101'"
Episode one of Everything Is Emo is up now and features Williams talking about er relationship with 11 songs including tracks from Jimmy Eat World, Panic! At The Disco, The Used, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and of course Paramore.
Watch the video for one of those songs Helena by My Chemical Romance below.
Each episode of the show will add to Williams' hypothesis that "everything is emo" and the diversity of sounds represented on the first episode certainly does a good job of kickstarting that argument.
Williams released a statement accompanying the first episode that can be read below.
“Everything Is Emo is meant to feel like a conversation with other fans of the genre, young and (ahem) old. There’s going to be plenty of interaction, which I hope will feel somewhat reminiscent of the message boards and forums I used to frequent as a teenage scene kid.”
Longtime fans will be aware of Williams love of Jimmy Eat World, so it is no surprise that they're the first artist covered with their song A Praise Chorus from emo staple Bleed American given the honour of introducing us into Williams world of emo.
Listen to Jimmy Eat World's A Praise Chorus below.
The one Paramore song to get the nod in the first episode is I Caught Myself which you can listen to below. The track features on the Twilight soundtrack which is the subject of the podcast's 'emo album shuffle segment'.

The podcast does spend some time looking into present and future emo soundscapes too, with Williams using her platform to feature Wet Leg and Lime Garden.
