Northlane are gearing up to release their spectacular new album Alien this Friday (seriously, read our glowing first impressions), and have released a visually stunning new video for the song 'Eclipse' as a final gift before the full record drops. As a tie-in with their previous 'Bloodline' video, this one explores the same events from a different perspective.
On top of that, if you're in the Melbourne area on its release day this Friday, Northlane are celebrating with a very intimate and FREE show at Yah Yah's in Fitzroy, which has a tiny capacity of between 150-200 and will undoubtedly fill up in the blink of an eye - so make sure you start lining up before the doors open at 8pm! There will also be a special pop up store to cop some sweet new merch.
Check out the official 'Eclipse' video below, then keep scrolling for info on the show!
Vocalist Marcus Bridge offered some words on the song:
“Eclipse is an attempt to understand the reasons and motivations behind the things my father did. When everything else in his life went wrong, he took it out on my sister and I. It’s easy to say that he was just a bad father but it was a bit more complicated than that. Despite trying to see it through his eyes, I’ve promised myself that I will never turn out like him, as a father, a husband or a man.
I had a very clear vision for the Eclipse video and Jason absolutely nailed it. To mirror the theme of the lyrics, I wanted the viewer to literally see the world through my father’s eyes. You see all the awful stuff we went through as children but also what led him to do those things. Like the Bloodline video, this will make some people uncomfortable but unfortunately this is a reality for a lot of people.”
