The metal world is really getting into the Christmas spirit this year with members of Cradle Of Filth, Dream Theater, Haken, Inhumane Condition and Protest The Hero have teamed up to create a Christmas song out of Slayer's classic Seasons In The Abyss.
The song, which they've punnily named Sleigher's Seasons Greetings In The Abyss features entirely new, Christmas themed lyrics, penned by Haken guitarist Charlie Griffiths and illustrator Dan Goldsworthy (Accept, Alestorm and Sylosis).

Project mastermind Griffith's offered the following explanation, indicating the track is somewhat of a tribute piece to the late Slayer guitarist, Jeff Hanneman.
"Injecting this song with some Christmas cheer worked better than any of us expected! Apparently Jeff Hanneman loved Christmas, so hopefully he would approve." "I hope we help to spread some musical merriment during yet another Christmas of uncertainty in the pandemic abyss. Thanks to all the guys for joining in with the fun and to Scott for mixing!"
Sleigher are Charlie Griffiths (Guitar), Dan Goldsworthy (Guitar), Rody Walker (vocals), Jeramie Kling (drums), Daniel Firth (bass), Jordan Rudess (keyboards) and Ray Hearne (tuba). The puppets were provided by Taylor Nordberg and animation by Ronald Gordon. Talk about a group gift!
The tune arrives on the same day as Matt Heafy of Trivum's cover of Jack's Lament from The Nightmare Before Christmas meaning metalheads are spoilt for Christmas music this year.
