The late Audioslave and Soundgarden luminary Chris Cornell is set to have his legacy captured in a career-spanning boxset called Chris Cornell: An Artist's Legacy which will be released on November 16. The release will feature a mountain of unreleased material, covers and live performances from Cornell. In conjunction with the announcement, a previously unreleased track 'When Bad Does Good' has been put up online which can be heard below.
Opening with the lines "Standing beside an open grave / Your fate decided / Your life erased / Your final hour / Has come today / Lit by the fire / Of your temples burning.", the song is extremely powerful and drives home Cornell's one-of-a-kind artistry.
Four versions of the album will be released, each with their own packaging and features - a single CD with 17 tracks (2 unreleased), a 4CD package with 64 tracks (11 unreleased), a double LP with Chris Cornell lithograph, and for the absolute die-hard fans, there will also be a limited-edition Super Deluxe package that includes 4 CDs, 1 DVD and 180-gram 7 LPs. The Super Deluxe edition holds 88 tracks — 64 songs plus 24 videos, with 13 unreleased tracks.
You can pre-order all versions and see the full tracklistings on each of them here.
