After recently announcing their new EP Bad Witch, Nine Inch Nails have already given us a taste of what to expect with a new single 'God Break Down the Door'.
It's a different step for the band, with the song borrowing elements from genres like acid, house and drum and bass, along with distorted horns and de-tuned synths keeping it just weird enough to be Nine Inch Nails. Session drum-wizard Josh Freese (Devo, The Vandals) has worked on and off with the band before, and was recruited again to lay down some driving grooves which provide a strong backbone for the track.
While everything we've heard so far sounds pretty dancey, Nine Inch Nails have always been a band to wildly experiment, so it will be interesting to see just how much the songs on the EP differ from each other.
Bad Witch is out on June 22, serving as the last release in a trilogy that the band began with 2016’s Not The Actual Events EP, and continued last year with Add Violence. What do you think about this direction? Let us know!
