Here at Maniacs, we love sharing metal from all over the world. Recently, we posted about Indian folk-metal band Bloodywood tackling mental illness with their awesome new track, and now we bring you new music from South Korean thrash veterans Sahon, who have released their sixth LP Chanting For The Fallen via the Asian label Transcending Obscurity.
The Sahon trio formed back in 1999 and consists of Yong Ho Lee (vocals, bass), Chang Myeong Lee (guitar), and Kyoung Hong Kim (drums). While the band aren't massive in the western world, they've drummed up quite a name in their native South Korea over the last couple of decades. You can watch them performing a cover of Slayer's 'Raining Blood' at an amazing Korean metal festival in 2005 below:
Their sixth album Chanting For The Fallen has received high praise from critics worldwide with some touting it as the best Metallica album since '...And Justice For All'! Listen to 'Joy of Hatred' taken from the album below and let us know what you think!
If you love what you hear, you can head to their Bandcamp where you can find a few more songs off the album and purchase it if you so desire.
