Attention fathers everywhere, Limp Bizkit have dropped your new 'dad swag anthem' Dad Vibes.
That's right, Fred Durst and co. have officially released the recorded version of their Lollapaloozaa viral sensation Dad Vibes, and it is every bit as bouncy and gloriously ridiculous as you'd expect.
The first new song from Limp Bizkit to drop since 2014, Dad Vibes is the biggest hint yet that their long-delayed sixth full-length The Stampede of The Disco Elephants, not only exists, conceptually, but in actuality as well.
Listen to Dad Vibes below.
Dad Vibes follows three other songs Lightz (City of Angels), Ready To Go and Endless Slaughter, as the most recent works from the Jacksonville, Florida nu-metal icons.
Limp Bizkit gave the world a sneak preview of the track at Lollapalooza, playing it over the PA at the end of their set, which Fred Durst played in full 'Dad' attire.
The attire makes so much more sense now that we've heard the song, which appears to quite literally be about rocking 'dad vibes' both musically and in a fashion sense. Featuring lyrical gems like "Hot dad riding in on a rhino/Got the roll-under-rap with the dad vibes/Now everybody bounce with the franchise/Come on" and "Dad got the sag in the back with a drip/Come and get a sip (la-di-da)" rapped against a trademark Limp Bizkit soundscape, the band seems to be diving head first into the gimmick of being 'dads' to the new nu-metal scene.
Now that Dad vibes is out in the wild, you best be prepared for an onslaught of Dad approved tunes, with Durst promising this is just the tip of the ice-berg of the band's all out relaunch.
"New songs will begin to leak, one after the other in rapid succession, very soon. Soon thereafter our new album will be released."
