Lacuna Coil's landmark 2002 record Comalies turns 20 this year. To celebrate his momentous moment in their career, the Italian gothic metallers are gearing up to release Comalies XX a reimagined version of Comalies. Today the band has shared the next taste of Comalies XX in the form of the updated version of Swamped. Swamped XX arrives complete with an impressive cinematic video which can be watched below.
Speaking about the upcoming release of Comalies XX, vocalist Cristina Scabbia explains Lacuna Coil's intentions for the release.
"This is not a reboot or a spin-off or anything like that," "We just wanted to give these songs a 2022 dress and see how this guy or girl who was born 20 years ago would still look fucking slick in 2022."
Comalies XX drops on October 14th and pre-orders are available from Century Media Records. The original version of Comalies was a big hit for the band, launching their career far beyond the borders of Italy.
Earlier this year, the band relased our first taste of Comalies XX, in the form of Tight Rope XX.
The updated version of the track is a lot heftier than the original, with every element of the Lacuna Coil sound given the attention it deserves. The result is a track that stands up to modern expectations without standing out too far from the magic of the original.
Lacuna Coil will be in Australia in December for Good Things Festival 2022.
Swamped XX has been added to our Metal Maniacs playlist.
