Michigan hardcore favourites La Dispute have announced the Wildlife 10-Year Anniversary & Recital tour of Australia.
One of the most seminal and influential releases in modern hardcore, Wildlife took the global underground by storm upon its release 12 years ago. An emotive examination of a city in flux, the people that populate it and the tragedies that befall them and us every day, the record is considered a modern classic and has arguably inspired an entire scene of imitators.
Told through the short stories and journal entries of a young man alone in a room, the record documents an individual’s search for meaning in the trials of others among the fallout of his own unnamed tragedy. An album for hard times, and harsh landscapes, and for now, as the last three years, have proved its themes, in a sense, universal, or which have at least breathed new life into all art exploring how it is to find purpose among the ruins of modern existence.
With a sonic profile to match the rawness and emotion of the subject matter, La Dispute will bring Wildlife back to life, live at shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne in August.
Tickets for the tour go on-sale on Thursday, 4 May at 10 am local time via destroyalllines.com with a pre-sale available from Tuesday, 2 May from 10 am AEST, fans can register for pre-sale tickets here.
