Korn will never forget where they came from: a dark place where salvation arrives in the form of twisted, throbbing guitar riffs, syncopated chaotic funk beats, a schizophrenic bass thump and Davis unmistakable howl. Korn are well noted as being one of the most experimental heavy bands of the last 20 years and they established themselves as genre game changers back in the 90s. Their most recent album The Path Of Totality sees them collaborating with Dub-Step artists including Skrillex: a testament to why they have sold over 33 million albums worldwide during the course of their career.
We recently asked frontman Jonathan Davis a few questions including why he chose METAL! Read on to see what he had to say
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE METAL?
I didnt choose metal when I first listened to music. Probably a year before I got into Korn is when I really got into it. I had a Motley Crue record and a Dio record that I loved. And then, Panteras Vulgar Display of Power did it for me- I was hooked.
WHATS THE BEST KIND OF METAL?
Grindcore - “I love Cannibal Corpse. Its gotta be Death Metal when Im in the mood - Extreme Metal.
WHY WOULD YOU ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO CHOOSE METAL?
Its an aggressive form of music that I love. I dig what its all about- and when youre in the mood, theres nothing like it. Metal helps to get through tough times when youre pissed off and just want to get amped up.
