Arizona deathcore/death metal crew Job For A Cowboy have released their first single in over a decade The Agony Seeping Storm.
Arriving accompanied by the news that the MySpace era phenomenons will be unleashing a new full-length next year on Metal Blade Records, The Agony Seeping Storm is a brutal statement of intent from Job For A Cowboy.
A mathematically mind-blowing hybrid of bludgeoning death metal specializing in unconventional riffing that echoes the resemblance of legendary experimentalists like Cynic, Atheist, and Gorguts, The Agony Seeping Storm picks up where their celebrated 2014 full-length Sun Eater left off, with the refreshed and reinpsired lineup of vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Tony Sannicandro and Al Glassman, bassist Nick Schendzielos, and drummer Navene Koperweis proving that not even age can weary the fire within them.

Speaking on the release Davy offers: "‘The Agony Seeping Storm’ gives a slice of our upcoming concept record. Regarding the video, the band collaborated extensively with director K. Hunter Lumar (Digital Mile), while our bassist, Nick Schendzielos, co-directed. The concept was inspired by a close friend who embarked on a relentless quest for profound enlightenment through the incessant abuse of hallucinogenic drugs. However, as they delved deeper into their religious-like experimentation they began exhibiting symptoms of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. They came to believe that they could access an alternate, esoteric reality through hallucinogenic intoxication, where they encountered gnostic and biblical figures and imagery. These songs reflect their thoughts, ideas, and experiences.”
The video for The Agony Seeping Storm will premiere via YouTube on August 30 at 1 AM AEST.
The return of Job For A Cowboy follows the recent inclusion of the the bands' What We Once Called Home from their 2004 demo by Knocked Loose vocalist Bryan Garris in his list of 'Songs That'll Knock You Loose'. Speaking about the tune, Garris revealed that it was the first song he ever tried to scream along to. "The first one that comes to my head is a song called What We Once Called Home by Job For A Cowboy. That was actually the first song that I ever tried to scream, me and a friend were listening to it really loud and goofing off, trying to imitate the vocals. And there's a breakdown in that song where he says “this is a war” over and over again. I remember I just tried to do that and my friend was just like: “you're not too bad, maybe you should come jam with me and some of my friends”. And that kind of just snowballed into me trying to pursue singing. So, that’s definitely a big one."
