Metal icons Iron Maiden have teamed up with Marvel for a new line of exclusive collaborative merchandise.
Blending Iron Maiden's mascot Eddie into Marvel characters including Wolverine, Venom, Deadpool and Thanos. The collab range includes jumpers and t-shirts with unique, never-to-be-repeated designs.
Iron Maiden's manager Rod Smallwood said of the collaboration.
“Eddie has long stood shoulder to shoulder with the greatest super-heroes and we’re also pretty proud of the Worlds we created for his many incarnations – from battlefields to Egyptian tombs to frozen icescapes or futuristic cities. "Juxtaposing some of the most recognisable characters in pop art and comic book culture into planet Maiden has been an ambition of ours for years and working with Marvel and their unparalleled character-based IP is the perfect fit in this day & age. To see such iconic characters alongside Eddie is something our fans have discussed for years and we think that the twist of placing Venom, Thanos, Thor or Deadpool in our Maiden worlds will excite fans of both cultures.”
Available from the official Iron Maiden website, the new merch range is available right now.
Iron Maiden released their 17th studio album Senjutsu earlier this year. We spoke to guitarist Dave Murray from the band about the album's creation and the bands enduring legacy.
The collaboration with Marvel is not the first time that Iron Maiden have ventured into the animated realm, with the band releasing the animated video for Stratego earlier this year in collaboration with Adult Swim.
Watch the video for Stratego below.
Powered by that trademark Iron Maiden gallop, a huge chorus from Bruce Dickinson and some sick leadwork, Stratego is everything you love about Iron Maiden condensed into just under five minutes of classic metal majesty.
