In what comes as some unexpected, but truly awesome news, Chicago's legendary alt-rock band Hum have today released a surprise new album called Inlet!
Inlet is the first Hum album in 22 years, and their fifth since forming in 1989, making this a pretty monumental release within the heavy music world. You can pre-order physical copies through Polyvinyl Records, but the album is already available for listening through Bandcamp with streaming services to follow soon - hear it below:
Hum gained a steady cult following throughout the 90's with their unique blend of shoegaze and alternative metal, also brushing with mainstream success thanks to their 1995 single 'Stars'. Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno has also openly stated that Hum were one of their biggest influences as they progressed.
That mutual respect was furthered when Deftones invited Hum to perform at their Dia de los Deftones festival in 2019.
