All jokes about the Fibonacci sequence aside, Tool are a genuinely complex band; it's pretty hard to cover their songs and we often wonder how they conjure up such intricate tracks. Well thanks to Youtuber Kmac2021, we now know the secret! Apparently the trick is to take everyone's favourite guitar store riff 'Smoke on the Water' and drop the tuning, change the rhythm, add odd time signatures and then lo and behold, you have something that sounds scarily similar to a real Tool song. Go figure!
He also reckons that the last step in the process is to not release the song for 15 years. That complete burn alone makes this a worthwhile watch.
