Chester Bennington's original band Grey Daze recently released a new recording featuring the vocals of a 17-year-old Chester, a song which is part of an upcoming record the band are planning on releasing in 2020.
Now, a new mini-documentary has hit YouTube which looks at the process behind recording the new album, which the band were planning with Bennington before his passing in July of 2017
There's tons of interesting footage to be found including a very young Chester toting dreadlocks, and an interview with his son Jaime (who has contributed vocals to the upcoming release) and the band members speaking on their emotional journey.
Check it out:
Grey Daze formed in 1993, and Chester was a member until joining Linkin Park in 1998. In a 2001 interview with Revolver magazine, Chester described Grey Daze's sound as:
"early-'90s -style rock. It wasn't pop rock, it wasn't heavy metal. It was in between grunge and good rock. We didn't know what we were doing. We were just writing songs and singing. It was a four-piece band. Some of our songs were more rock. Others were more, I don't know, alternative? I've always been into punk and classic rock. The first few years of being a musician, it was all cover band stuff, and we'd throw in a few originals. The last band I was in, I was in it for almost eight years. We made two albums, and tried really hard."
