It's been well over two years since Gojira released their last masterpiece Magma, an album which earned the band two Grammy nominations and sold out tours around the world.
A new post on Gojira's Instagram page shows drummer Mario Duplantier holding a tambourine in front of a microphone with the caption "Cooking something up...", alluding to some new material being written.
No news as to what this could be, although Gojira did record a 4-track EP for the animal rights group Sea Shepherd back in 2010, but lost three of the recordings to hard drive failure. Frontman Joe Duplantier has recently said he is trying to recover these, so it might have something to do with this. One song from that EP called 'Of Blood And Salt' made it to see the light of day and it features both Devin Townsend and Meshugga's Fredrik Thordendal. You can check it out below:
