If you’re planning a holiday to the States (which I can only dream of doing), I have found an excellent map to help you figure out where to go. Researcher Paul Lamere who runs a blog called Music Machineryhas sampled a whole bunch of listener’s in each state to see which band is favourite to where. Personally, I think North Dakota would be a pretty good place to start, where Stone Sour is the favourite. Where would you begin?

It’s a pretty cool thing to see, and the bands/artists that one might think might dominate, are no where to be seen (ie. a lot of the pop that’s flogged on commercial radio). You can check out all the research here
