Progressive metalcore maestros ERRA have been tearing up stages all around Australia in support of The Plot In You over the past few weeks, earning widespread praise for their stellar live performances. Much to the delight of their dedicated local fanbase, the band has stuck around to crush some headline dates of their own, giving Aussie audiences the chance to experience the unique thrill of an ERRA headline performance.
Playing songs from across their discography, including recent single Pull From The Ghost and offerings from the deluxe version of their latest album S/T, ERRA have proven more than worthy of the considerable hype that's been built around their music over the past few years.
In the lead-up to the final few dates down under, we caught up with the band's guitarist Jesse Cash and vocalist JT Cavey to find out what tunes they've been blasting in the tour van while they've been traversing this great southern land.

Jesse Cash - Guitarist
The Paper Kites – TwelveFour
"The record I've been listening to a lot is The Paper Kites and the record is called TwelveFour. Their records are for sure a vibe. They used to be an acoustic sort of band, but they've changed their sound like eight years ago to be more like an eighties influence sort of vibey thing, it’s not like acoustic, it's just fucking really good. But I'm listening to that."
Gang of Youths– Angel in Realtime
"Another one of my favourite records released this year is also an Australian band called Gang of Youths. The record Angel in Realtime. By the end of this year when I get my Spotify app, there's no way I've listened to anything more than that record. I was just so invested, the story behind that record and his lyrics are fucking incredible, they’re so good. I saw them live on their US tour at The Belasco Theatre in LA and like it takes a lot for me to feel emotional at a show, but I feel such a deep connection to that record. I fucking cried when he played that song about his dad. It was an intense moment. It was just so intimate. I fucking love that record so much. My favourite band is The National and GOY scratches that itch a bit."
"There are a lot of similarities. I lost my dad pretty recently; it was really crazy to me how much grace he gave his dad despite his mistake because I haven't been able to do that. So there's a part of it that I'm almost vicariously living through the grace that he was able to give his dad despite all the things he did wrong."
DMA’s – The Glow
"I'm gonna keep it going with Australian bands. DMA’s are one of my favourite bands. Fucking I love that one, it’s real."
The 1975
"All the new 1975 singles are good."
Sleep Token - This Place Will Become Your Tomb
"I'm getting into Sleep Token this week. There. I got one metal band in there!"
JT Cavey - Vocals
"I’m a heavy Guy, so these are going to be mostly heavy records."
Spite – Dedication To Flesh
"That's a new heavy album that just came out."
Alluvial - Sarcoma
"Our friend Zach is on tour with Alluvial as their drummer, so I redownloaded Sarcoma."
J.Cole – The Off-Season
"I have The Off Season by J.Cole downloaded Big, big J.Cole fan."
The Devil Wears Prada – Color Decay
"It’s just so good."
Legend– The Pale Horse
"I'll keep saying this last one forever because it never leaves my library but The Pale Horse by Legend."
