Rising metalcore maestros ERRA have dropped a supermassive cover of MUSE's chaotic rager Stockholm Syndrome.
Lifted from the deluxe version of their self-titled album due to drop on March 18th via UNFD, the cover sees ERRA take the already crushing song from MUSE's memorable 2003 record Absolution and shift it up a notch, making everything sound so much heavier, without losing the songs signature elements.

Keyboardist/clean vocalist Jesse Cash explains the inspiration for the cover.
"The first time I heard Muse's 'Stockholm Syndrome', I thought, 'This song is begging to be covered by a metal band,'" shares guitarist and clean vocalist Jesse Cash about the impetus for choosing to interpret this song. "It has aggressive riffs, soaring vocals, keyboard arpeggios, and a big ending breakdown. It has all the necessary materials to be contextualised into an ERRA song. The chromatic guitar octaves in the verses also left me a lot of room to play with some chromatic groove riffs in the style of Meshuggah. I realised as long as I maintained the root notes of those original octaves, I could kind of be as creative as I wanted during those verses. I also adjusted the original tuning from Drop D to Drop E and tuned the guitar down an entire octave to make the song low, heavy, and more akin to the range ERRA generally tunes in."
The expanded edition of ERRA's S/T is beefed up with seven additional tracks, including a feature from Spiritbox's Courtney LaPlante, along with three covers. It is available for pre-order now here.

MUSE dropped the heavy, riff-driven monster Won't Stand Down in January to the delight of old-school MUSEfans everywhere. produced by MUSE and mixed by Dan Lancaster (Bring Me The Horizon, Enter Shikari). It is an arena-ready anthem of chaos with heavy guitars and industrial-like distortions amplifying Matt Bellamy's striking lyrics about taking the power back. It even features a breakdown and some screams, which is enough to excite both the inner metalhead and the inner Muse maniac in us all. Arriving accompanied by a sinister sci-fi video, directed by award-winning filmmaker Jared Hogan (girl in red, Joji) Won't Stand Down is set to eviscerate stadiums worldwide in the near future.
