We are finding it hard to contain our excitement here at Maniacs following today’s news that Dream Theaterwill be releasing their first ever self-titled collection hitting the streets September 20. The Grammy nominated band are approaching three decades in music and the new album follows 2011’s A Dramatic Turn Of Events.
This is what John Petrucci had to say regarding the new record.
I see every new album as an opportunity to start over. To either build or improve upon a direction that has been evolving over time or to completely break new ground. This is the first self-titled album of our career and there is nothingI can think of that makes a statement of musical and creative identity stronger than that. Weve fully explored all of the elements that make us unique, from the epic and intense to the atmospheric and cinematic. Were incredibly excited about Dream Theater and cant wait for everyone to hear it.
