A couple of months ago we found out that Disturbed had entered the studio via a video update which sounded very acoustic and had us thinking the band might be making a big departure from their signature sound. We weren't completely surprised given that their sombre cover of Simon and Garfunkel's iconic track 'The Sound of Silence' in 2015 turned out to be a gargantuan hit for them.
In a second studio update released by the band, however, we can hear some new audio being tracked which definitely sounds more like the Disturbed we all know and love.
Vocalist David Draiman can be heard in the clip saying "We have this idea about disconnect, about how technology has consumed us. Everybody's stuck with their faces in their phones and not enjoying the real world."
Yeah that's good and all David, but uh... people kind of have to stick their faces in their phone to keep up with studio updates!
