Devin Townsend has announced a tour of Australia.
A relentless force who fearlessly pushes the boundaries of artistic expression, Townsend will hit Australian shores this November in support of his latest forward-thinking artistic creation, the full-length studio album Lightwork.
The eccentric mastermind, orchestrator and comedian will draw on music from across his career, mixing solo work with tracks from the likes of Strapping Young Lad, Ocean Machine, Infinity, Ziltoid and The Devin Townsend Project to provide a one-of-a-kind experience to his loyal Australian fans.
Townsend's connection to music, where he perceives notes as vibrant colours and captivating shapes, serves as a cornerstone of his creativity. It breathes new life into his sonic landscapes, immersing listeners in a world that evokes profound emotional responses. Attending a Devin Townsend concert is said to not just be a mere event, but a transcendental experience that leaves you with more questions than answers, yet undeniably humbled.
The tour kicks off on Wednesday, 8th November at Magnet House in Perth, before hitting The Forum in Melbourne on Friday 10th November, The Metro in Sydney on Saturday 11th November and The Tivoli in Brisbane on November 12th.
Tickets available Thursdau, July 13th at 9.00am local time via The Phoenix.
We caught up with Townsend for a chat last year, in which he revealed five things we didn't know about the creation of Lightwork.
