On top of being a founding member of the seminal metalcore band Converge, Kurt Ballou has also produced countless influential records in hardcore and metal, with a production catalogue spanning bands like High On Fire, Nails, Code Orange, Russian Circles, Pg.99 and his own band to name just a few.
Ballou is the latest guest to feature on Show Us Your Junk!, a web-series which invites different producers to give a tour through their studio and share interesting stories about gear, studio sessions and more. Taking us through his GodCity studio, Ballou offers a fascinating look into both his extensive gear collection and his history as an artist. For example, we had no idea he was actually a biomedical engineer before he was laid off, using his severance package to start the studio!
