UPDATE: FOSS IS NOT MISSING.
In some very unsettling nu-metal news, original Coal Chamber bassist Rayna Foss has reportedly been missing since September 2021. Foss was first reported missing in September 2021, according to a report from TV station WVUE New Orleans. The date of the report and some details were confirmed by the New Orleans Police Department, who say that the now 51-year-old Foss who stands at 5ft3 and weighs around 90kg, is still missing and the case remains open. Foss's disappearance was first reported to the NOPD by her Group Home Manager and was last seen on 7th September by staff at the home. Anyone with any information as to her whereabouts or wellbeing are encouraged to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
The original bassist for Coal Chamber, the hugely successful Californian nu-metal band, Foss was part of the iconic lineup that took the world by storm with hits like Fiend and Loco, alongside vocalist Dez Fafara, guitarist Miguel Rascón and drummer Mike Cox, appearing on their first three world-beating studio album's, 1997's Coal Chamber, 1999's Chamber Music and 2002's Dark Days.
Foss exited the group in 2002 to focus on being the best parent she could be to her daughter Kayla Moray Rose, whose father, Morgan Rose of Sevendust was also a full-time touring musician.
At Maniacs we hope Foss is alive and well and is able to check-in with her loved ones when she feels the time is right. In the meantime let's enjoy her at her absolute best by watching the video for the certified banger Loco.
