blink-182 have shared the video for their new single One More Time.
A mature and reflective mid-tempo offering that sonically calls to mind 2003's I Miss You and 1999's Adam's Song, One More Time is an exercise in catharsis through art. Lyrically the song finds the newly reunited core of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker looking back at their time spent apart, with Hoppus and DeLonge's emotive vocal deliveries underpinning the song's redemptive core.
The song arrives with a video that fans will immediately recognise as a spiritual call back to Adam's Song. It features the band giving an emotive performance in a white room, with iconic backdrops from across the band's career projected behind them.
During a trailer for an upcoming interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, DeLonge reflects that it was Hoppus's diagnosis with cancer that ignited the dormant blink-182 fire within him, stating "I remember I told my wife, I don't think I'm ever going to play music again, I don't think I'm ever going to tour again, and then Mark told me he was sick and it was the only thing I wanted to do".
The nature of the impetus for his return, also gave birth to One More Time with Barker sharing "One More Time’ is written about ‘why does it take these catastrophes like me being in a plane crash or Mark being sick for our band to get back together?"
Showing that the humorous banter that was one of their onstage trademarks remains, DeLonge follows this heartfelt sentiment by stating "One More Time is like 'Hey this is the last time we're going to fuck this up'."
