    The Australian heavy music festival scene has been feeling a little barren lately since the indefinite cancellation of Soundwave Festival, so we have to admit we're more than a little excited about Blacken Open Air 2017.

    The festival is set to take place over Easter weekend (that's Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of April you bunch of heathens), and features 30 bands including:

    Psycroptic
    King Parrot
    Southeast Desert Metal
    Frankenbok
    Uncreation
    Colossvs
    The Horror
    Disentomb
    Exdemission
    The Schoenberg Automaton
    Miazma
    Desecrator
    Nokturnl
    Darker Half
    Unbroken Expanse
    Deadspace
    Alkira
    Mason
    Hidden Intent
    Headbore

    According to the festival organisers:

    "BLACKEN takes place at the Gap View Hotel, beneath the ancient MacDonnell Ranges. In the Festival Grounds there are two stages, two swimming pools, two bars, a skate ramp, market stalls, food trucks and more."
